SPECTATOR GUIDELINES

2/1/2021

Oakwood CUSD #76 is pleased to announce our 2021 COVID-19 spectator guidelines for our IHSA and IESA extra-curricular events. While under these guidelines, we will not be able to host all of our wonderful friends in our communities and those of our opponents like normal. We hope to give our student-athletes the best opportunity to participate in and complete their respective seasons. We will follow the IDPH guidelines, and we ask that while you are a guest at our events that you would support and practice these guidelines as well.

This guidance is provided for the safe interaction of contest management and spectators during sporting events or other activities on CUSD #76 properties.

  1. Spectators will be limited to Oakwood CUSD#76 athletes parents/invited guests and will be limited to two guest per athlete for indoor and outdoor venues. Guests MUST be from the same household.  Handicap Accessibility is limited due to the IDPH guidelines for activities.

  2. Contestants will be given two passes at the beginning of each season to be used by their guest. The pass is only good for your contestants events.  Contestants parents will only be allowed in the contest that the contestant is on the active roster to participate.  The indoor facilities will be cleared and sanitized between contests.

  3. The passes will allow entry into home contests and access to a POD (HS) where guests from the same household may sit. Junior High School will only have individual seating available.

  4. The VVC is not allowing visiting fans into any away contest, but most of the away contest will be live streamed on a streaming service.

  5. Home games at OHS will be live streamed on the NFHS Network, https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/oakwood-high-school-fithian-il .  There is a subscription fee which allows you to watch all home and away games if the visiting school has the NFHS system streaming system.  Most VVC high schools have the system in their gyms and on football fields and can be viewed on the site above.

  6. Spectators and nonparticipant visitors will be required to check in at a designated entry point and provide name and phone number to game day management for contact tracing purposes.

  7. Spectators and nonparticipant visitors will have their temperature checked and asked if they have any COVID Symptoms prior to entering the event.

  8. Building Capacity is determined by IDPH guidelines even though spectator attendance will be limited as follows, in accordance with regional Tier mitigation levels as outlined in the Restore Illinois guidelines:

    1. When located in a region not facing specific mitigation efforts outlined in the Restore Illinois guidelines:

      1. Gatherings of up to 50 spectators, indoors or outdoors, are allowed.

    2. When located in a region under Tier 1 mitigation efforts per the Restore Illinois guidelines:

      1. Gatherings of up to 25 spectators, indoors or outdoors, are allowed.

    3. When located in a region under Tier 2 or more restrictive mitigation efforts per the Restore Illinois guidelines:

      1. No spectators are allowed, whether indoors or outdoors.
